10 NYC Best Picture Locations July 19 2014

Everyone tries to capture a moment, a memory, a story that you can tell over and over, where else to do this if not in New York. There are amazing photo opportunities around every corner. From skylines and night photography, to portraits, architecture, street photography, nightlife and even wildlife, NYC has it all.

 

1. Sunset between the skyscrapers. 42nd street between 5th and 6th Ave

Depending on what time of the year you are visiting New York the sunset is between 6 P.M - 8 P.M.. Wait till the traffic light turns red and step on the middle of the street to capture this unique moment.

 

2. The Skyline from Jersey City

It's very simple to get to Jersey City you can take a Ferry or the PATH train. Once you get off the transportation walk to the water which is only few minutes away and stroll around the beautiful promenade till you find the perfect location to trigger your camera release button.

   

3. The Skyline from Brooklyn Heights promenade

Not very difficult to get there. You can take the subway, any of these trains MAP, or you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. The promenade is especially beautiful during night there are seat opportunities where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic view.

  

4. Empire State Building from a rooftop bar called Monarch, 71 W 35th St, New York, NY 10018

Depending on the evening the entrance to this gem can be tricky but in general it's accessible to the public. The fabulous view of the Empire State Building is worth any trouble.

 

5. Times Square from Rooftop of the hotel Novotel

Novotel is located on 226 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019 it's a great hotel with a rooftop that offers food as well. Step up and make a memory. 

 

6. Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of the best spots to photograph the Brooklyn Bridge with the NYC skyline in the background. It’s very easy to get there via subway but you can also walk over the bridge from Manhattan. Sunset and "blue hour" are fantastic times for photos. Blue hour is the brief period right after sunset, but before it's fully dark.

 

7. Statue of Liberty from Battery Park 

Battery Park is a public park located at the Battery, the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City. The relatively modern park was created by landfill during the 19th century. Depending on your preference you can take the picture during the day or night time. 

 

8. Central Park from, Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Center

Soar 70 floors high and experience 3 viewing decks and the exhilarating joy of unobstructed 360º city views from Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. From the sweeping green of Central Park to the thrilling city skyline, nowhere else can you see New York so spectacularly.

 

9. 9/11 Memorial from W Hotel Downtown balcony

The W Hotel is located at 123 Washington St, New York, NY 10006. Get on the elevator and exit at the lobby which has a balcony facing the 9/11 Memorial as well as a bar in case you get thirsty while waiting for the right moment to shoot your picture.  

 

10. Skyline from Long Island City promenade 

The easiest way to get to this location is by taking the 7 Train from Grand Central and getting off at the first station, called Vernon Blvd/Jackson Ave. Walk to the promenade have a seat and enjoy!
